Scale Slimy Fish Weather Events — Complete Guide
Every weather event in Scale Slimy Fish explained: buffs, durations, weather fish spawns, Starlights rewards, and optimal fishing strategies for Aurora, Thunder, and Meteor.
The July 2026 weather update transformed Scale Slimy Fish from a static fishing simulator into a dynamic event-driven experience. Weather conditions rotate every few minutes across the entire server, applying luck multipliers, mutation rate boosts, and exclusive weather fish spawns that feed into the new Starlights economy. Understanding which weather is active — and acting fast during premium windows — separates players who complete their mutation index from those who grind commons indefinitely.
All Weather Events Table

| Rainy | 1.2× server luck | 7 minutes | None |
| Thunder | 1.5× server luck + 5 weather fish spawn | 7 minutes | 5 weather fish |
| Meteor | 2× server luck + 2× mutation rate + 2 weather fish | 6 minutes | 2 weather fish (1,715 Starlights each) |
How to Read the Weather UI
Two UI elements track weather state. The bottom-right corner displays the current active weather icon — glance here before casting to know if buffs are live. The top of the screen shows the remaining time on the current event and a preview of the next weather condition incoming. Use the preview to prepare: equip luck potions before Meteor arrives, clear inventory space before Thunder spawns five catchable weather fish, and position yourself at deep water before Aurora's mutation boost begins.
Weather events cannot be triggered by players. They occur on a server-wide random rotation with no manual spawn items confirmed as of July 2026. Patience and awareness beat idle fishing — stay at your rod when strong weather is active rather than scaling or shopping.
Meteor — Best Weather Event
Meteor weather is the jackpot event every Scale Slimy Fish player should prioritize. For six minutes the server runs at 2× luck, mutated fish appear at double their normal rate, and two weather fish spawn that can be caught and delivered to Thunder Siam for 1,715 Starlights each. A single Meteor window can fund multiple permanent Starlight upgrades or several shop tiers if you also catch high-rarity mutated fish during the luck boost.
Optimal Meteor strategy: equip your best rod and multi-catch bait, activate a luck potion if available (from scalescalescale on our codes page), fish continuously in your deepest accessible zone, catch both weather fish before the timer expires, then scale your backlog after Meteor ends. Do not leave the water to scale mid-event — every second off-rod wastes the 2× luck multiplier.
Thunder and Aurora Weather Fish
Thunder spawns five weather fish alongside its 1.5× luck buff over seven minutes. Aurora spawns five weather fish with a 2× mutation rate over eight minutes. Both events reward delivering caught weather fish to Thunder Siam, the NPC at the map center. Meteor weather fish pay the most Starlights per fish, but Thunder and Aurora offer higher volume — five turn-ins per event versus Meteor's two.
Weather fish are distinct from regular catches. They appear specifically during these three events and despawn when the weather cycle changes. Prioritize hooking weather fish over scaling commons during active Thunder or Aurora windows. Full Starlights economy details on the Starlights currency page.
Rainy and Night — Secondary Events
Rainy applies a modest 1.2× server luck boost for seven minutes with no weather fish spawns. Worth fishing through if you are already positioned at deep water, but not worth interrupting a scaling session to relocate. Night lasts twelve minutes and increases spawn rates for specific fish species — the exact species list is still being cataloged by the community. Check our game data reference as the Night fish roster is confirmed.
Sunny is purely cosmetic with no gameplay impact over its twelve-minute duration. Use Sunny windows for scaling backlogs, shopping, or claiming free rewards without missing meaningful buffs.
Weather + Codes + Potions Synergy
Stack every advantage during premium weather windows:
- Redeem weather for 1,000 free Starlight before your first Thunder Siam visit
- Redeem 10kccu for a Lucky Totem to extend luck beyond server weather buffs
- Save luck potions from scalescalescale for Meteor and Thunder sessions
- Upgrade rod and bait first so weather buffs apply to valuable deep-water fish — see upgrade walkthrough
Mutation Index and Weather
Aurora and Meteor both boost mutated fish spawn rates. Players hunting mutation index completion should treat these events as mandatory fishing windows. The mutation index tracks variant fish species — rarer mutations spawn more frequently when Aurora's 2× rate or Meteor's combined 2× luck and 2× mutation buff are active. Pair weather fishing with strategies from how to find rare fish and the fish index walkthrough.
