Scale Slimy Fish Starlights — Premium Currency Guide
Everything about Starlights in Scale Slimy Fish: earning through weather fish and Thunder Siam, free code rewards, spending priorities, and how Starlights accelerate long-term progression.
Starlights are the premium progression currency introduced in Scale Slimy Fish's July 2026 weather update. Unlike cash — which cycles through daily shop purchases of rods, knives, and bait — Starlights fund permanent upgrades that improve fishing speed, scaling efficiency, and long-term account power. The currency ties directly into the new weather event system: catch weather fish during Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor conditions, deliver them to Thunder Siam at the map center, and receive Starlights in return. Players who ignore weather timers leave the most valuable free progression path entirely untapped.
How to Earn Starlights
Weather Fish Turn-Ins (Primary Method)
During three weather events, special weather fish spawn in the water:
- Aurora — 5 weather fish over 8 minutes (2× mutation rate active)
- Thunder — 5 weather fish over 7 minutes (1.5× server luck active)
- Meteor — 2 weather fish over 6 minutes (2× luck + 2× mutation rate)
Catch these fish before the weather cycle changes, then walk to Thunder Siam in the map center and turn them in. Meteor weather fish pay 1,715 Starlights each — the highest confirmed per-fish reward. Thunder and Aurora fish pay less per unit but offer five turn-ins per event versus Meteor's two.
Promo Code (Instant Free Starlights)
Redeem weather for 1,000 Starlight immediately — no fishing or weather timing required. This code celebrates the weather system launch and works once per account. Copy it from our codes page or code copy tool and enter via Settings → Codes field.
Lucky Totem Synergy
The 10kccu code grants a Lucky Totem that boosts rare fish and weather fish catch rates during active sessions. Use Lucky Totems during Meteor and Thunder windows to maximize weather fish hook rate. Full code list on active codes.
Thunder Siam NPC Location
Thunder Siam stands in the center of the map — the same central hub area near the spawn dock. After catching weather fish during an active Aurora, Thunder, or Meteor event, interact with Thunder Siam to exchange your catch for Starlights. You cannot turn in weather fish after the weather cycle changes, so deliver catches promptly before the timer expires.
Regular fish caught during weather events do not grant Starlights — only the specially spawned weather fish models count for turn-ins. Learn to distinguish weather fish spawns from normal catches during active events via the weather events guide.
Starlights vs. Cash vs. Scales
| Currency | Source | Primary Use |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Selling scaled fish | Shop gear: rods, knives, bait, potions |
| Scales | Scaling minigame | Skill expression; affects sell quality |
| Starlights | Weather fish + codes | Permanent premium upgrades |
Cash remains the day-to-day progression currency. Starlights are the long-term investment layer. New players should still prioritize cash-funded rod upgrades from the upgrade walkthrough before obsessing over Starlight farming — but redeeming weather for 1,000 free Starlights takes ten seconds and should never be skipped.
Optimal Starlights Farming Route
- Redeem weather code for 1,000 instant Starlights
- Upgrade rod and bait to access deep water — weather fish still require catching skill
- Monitor bottom-right weather UI for Meteor and Thunder previews
- Equip luck potions and Lucky Totem before premium weather begins
- Fish aggressively during Meteor (6 min) and Thunder (7 min) windows
- Deliver all weather fish to Thunder Siam before weather changes
- Repeat across sessions; stack with Crystal Cavern for high-value zone fishing
Spending Starlights Wisely
Permanent upgrades funded by Starlights compound over hundreds of sessions. Prioritize upgrades that reduce the catch-scale-sell cycle time — faster fishing and faster scaling multiply every future income source. Avoid spending Starlights on cosmetic-only options until core speed upgrades are purchased. Check in-game Starlight shop descriptions for current permanent buff categories as developers may add options in future patches.
